Instructional Design


Scaffolded, student-centered learning from exploration to application.


I design my instruction using a structured, student-centered approach that blends gradual release, scaffolding, and experiential learning. I begin by helping students explore and activate prior knowledge (as an example: check out how I use ChatGPT to activate prior knowledge with a Critical Friend Activity), then guide them to engage collaboratively in meaningful dialogue that deepens understanding. Through authentic, simulation-based experiences, students take ownership of their learning by applying concepts in real-world contexts. Throughout this process, I incorporate reflective and formative evaluation to support continuous growth. Grounded in experiential learning theory and the maieutic method, my instruction emphasizes inquiry, connection, and the seamless integration of theory into practice.
